Well chaps, it is the beginning of the week and I don't know about you but the word Monday utterly screams misery to me. It's just one of those things that we as humans can't escape and even though I have attempted to change it's vibe (believe me I have), it still remains the same.
Monday, Monday, no. It's just got a tone of dread to it.
Now I've informed you all about my dislike for the first day of the week, I want to talk about something which everybody suffers from. Those 'days'.
Do you know which I mean? Those days where from the moment you get up, to the time you get home, you just feel fed up; either things have gone wrong, your work mates have been a pain in the bum or you're just generally not feeling too good at all.
I'll be honest, for a long time I did deal with these days a very unhealthy way (which I don't feel I should go into), how ever with good encouragement and a little inspiration, I decided to do something healthy and... take out time for me.
To break it down a little more, I am referring to a pamper evening. Now I will be honest and say that this is a simple, therapeutic way to make your mind positive and this goes for both genders. (Yes I know you men love a bath from time to time, don't deny it!)
For me, the first thing that I do on these evenings is switch of my phone. Now I know some of you probably won't do this because many people these days are reliant on their phone and feel it is a necessity to have it switched on. But for me, it's important; whilst your mind is running with curiosity and bothering with communication, you can't entirely turn a little selfish.
The next thing? I run a bath. What is better then lying in a tub of goodness, which makes all your bones and muscles turn to jelly? For this part, you can do what ever tickles your fancy: get a lovely cool drink (water or alcohol), light a few candles, turn all the lights off or add a bath bomb.
For me, my personal preference is to put in a bath bomb, pop on some music or grab my kindle and read for a little while. Although I will be honest, many times I have got into the bath with a book and completely lost track of time, so remember that after so long, the water does get cold! ;)
Whilst inside the bath, I pop on a face mask. For me it's crucial to give love to my body and having a facial mask is one of those things, that and not to mention after, my skin is given a soft glow which boosts my confidence a great deal. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, nothing too expensive. You can find simple lovely ones from Lush, The Body Shop, Asda, where ever is accessible!
Next, I crawl out the bath, light a few candles, slip on my PJS and have a good 'ol boogie. It can be with your headphones on, from a vinyl player, your docking station or CD player. Dancing carelessly to your favourite song, is the most wonderful stress reliever I have ever known and I know for certain, lots of people agree to it. You can sing at the top of your voice or crack out those beautiful dance moves, either way I can guarantee after, you will feel relieved.
Or if I'm not feeling too motivated, I like to continue to pamper myself by doing my nails or tweezing my brows. There is something about beauty care which triggers something inside me, I just love it; Whether it's adding another face mask, tweezing my eyebrows or painting my nails.
Then after, I just love snuggling down in my bed with a glass of water (or which ever your personal preference leads you to) and just snuggling into my bed.
That is my pamper done and completed, and yes I do these thing a lot during the week, whether I'm feeling crap, or just fancy having some me time.
I hope some of you like this idea, let me know of your personal treats in the comments!
