On the 19th March, I posted a short yet informative review about a certain book called The Maze Runner.
Now here I am informing you guys that I have completed both this book and the third. (I will post the third review tomorrow).
Firstly, I should add that when searching for the titles of the second and third book, I dangerously came upon two HUGE spoilers that were to occur in the third, which sadly made me halt reading the second book.
Basically for those who want a very brief synopsis, (oops spoiler alert), the first book ends in a situation where the boys are broke out of the building WICKED and sent to a small hotel where the boys are capable of showering, receiving new clothes and even gifts.
How ever,(entering beginning of second book) they soon find out that the action was a test and the 'gladers' were led there under a false sense of security. In The Scorch Trials, there are placed against time to go from one point to another point, whilst being put under a dangerous amount of tasks.
I'll be honest, describing this book is almost painful to do; I have personally never read such an emotional book.
I haven't endured a story which consists of so many plot twists that makes your mind almost bleed because your trying to figure it out, but then when your even briefly nearly a solution, another arises changing the path entirely.
When I finally finished this book (I finished it in roughly 6 hours), I felt almost mentally exhilarated at what I had read. Not only was I full of rage due to a certain character but I was almost at shock because how personally I felt empathy for the characters in the book.
In some circumstances, I would have preferred a much different shorter story informing me that certain characters were stood in a line and shot, then gone onto the third book.
For myself, it would have been much more easier to cope with.
I would of course recommend people continue from the first book, but lay a caution down warning that it isn't the easiest to deal with.
