It is without a doubt certain that every human has heard of the book series The Chronicles Of Narnia; if that statement isn't true then be aware that I'm rather worried about what you were taught in school (No, I'm not kidding!)
At the beginning of the year, I deemed it vital that I bring myself upon this book series and start to read it; how ever it was only two or three weeks ago that I actually added it to my list of books to read.
Nevertheless, about a week or so ago, I begin to finally read the book series and believe it or not, The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe is NOT the first of the series. This confusion can be brought up due to the fact C.S Lewis published The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, with the idea that it wasn't going to be a series.
The first book is actually The Magician's Nephew which (I hope the dates are correct here) was initially posted in 1956, which is 5 years after the publication of TLW&TW.
Unlike most book series nowadays, C.S Lewis has stated that you don't have to specifically read the books in a particular order. However if you are the type to follow the usual, then the correct order by events in Narnia is:
1. The Magicians Nephew.
2. The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe.
3. The Horse And His Boy.
4. Prince Caspian.
5. The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader.
6. The Silver Chair
7. The Last Battle.
How ever, the film industry have intended to create the films in publication order, which is:
1. The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe.
2. Prince Caspian.
3. The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader.
4. The Silver Chair.
5. The Horse And His Boy.
6. The Magicians Nephew.
7. The Last Battle.
As a first I can say that the TLW&TW film, is most deffinetly the exact to the book, which personally makes me beam with joy!
If any of you are at all interested in a review of these books, then by all means, let me know! :)
